PRESS RELEASE – FUTURE LANDSCAPES
BORDERS Art Fair 2020 | FUTURE LANDSCAPES
October 15/16 - November 29, 2020
ITSLIQUID Group is proud to announce the opening of FUTURE LANDSCAPES exhibition, third appointment of BORDERS Art Fair 2020, an international exposure of photography, architecture, painting, video art, installation, sculpture and performance art which will be held in Venice from October 15 to November 29 2020 at THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space, and from October 16 to November 29 2020 at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello, a historical venetian building in Cannaregio, dated back in the XVI century.
The event, organized by ITSLIQUID Group, in collaboration with Venice Events and ACIT Venice Italian-German Cultural Association, presents a selection of more than 100 artists from almost 20 different countries. After the great success of the first and second appointments - BODIES+CITIES SKIN (July 23 / August 21 2020) and FRAGMENTED IDENTITIES (September 03 / October 02 2020) - ITSLIQUID Group opens FUTURE LANDSCAPES, the last step of the fair which analyzes the concept of ‘borders’ as physical, urban, social and mental boundaries.
Among the artists who participate in the exhibition, the Berlin duo Ron Miller (Marcus Klüh & Ronny Kindt) and the young Olga Georgitsia, both confirming once again their collaboration with ITSLIQUID Group. In the event will be shown highly expressive abstract works, like the ones of Tim Ulrich, Rodd Alt, Annette Werndl and of the polish artist Ursula Radel-Leszczynski. Many figurative works will be exhibited too, halfway between reality and imaginary, as for example Feistner Heidrun’s sculptures. The paintings of Rainer Pierson and the photographs made by Yiran (Rachel) Wang invite us to think about the relationship between man and nature, in the same way of the installations by the pakistan artist Sadia Safder, realized with fruits seeds and fiber mesh. Erwin Rios’ canvases focus on the political meaning of ‘borders’, as well as the architectural projects by Sharlinee Ceniceros, Mexico, and by Nadia Kalogeropoulou, Netherlands, who both hypothesize interesting solutions for re-thinking community life.
During the opening on Friday, October 16 2020, Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello will welcome a series of live performances and a talk about the book “Boundary Landscapes”, conceived after the homonym international conference hosted by the Università di Brescia in 2018 and by the London Festival of Architecture in 2019.

Never as this time the concept of the fair and the idea behind the FUTURE LANDSCAPES exhibition seem to be epochal. The new invisible borders generated by the Covid-19 are creating new ways of living everyday life and of relating to others and to the environment. After the lockdown, it is now essential to change human connections as well as the common spaces and the urban pattern of the cities we live in.
The exhibition wants to be a starting point to reflect on the macroscopic and microscopic transformations that are occurring in our lives. The FUTURE LANDSCAPES are the outlooks to which we aspire following an ideal model of architectonic and urbane evolution, but they are also the tragic panoramas of a dystopian future. The borders and limits determinate human behavior and actions, everyday, and redefine everyone’s identity in the relationship with space. Human beings are now called to transform the borders in new possibilities, and the differences in opportunities of change and dialogue.
